Presentations & Workshops

Education that reaches the people who need it.

NMD delivers live presentations to schools, parent groups, and community organisations — because a page alone cannot replace a room.

Why we show up in person

A room changes what's possible

Online resources have real value — they are available at any hour, they can be revisited, and they reach people who would never attend a session. But they cannot do what a room can do: create the conditions for a young person to ask the question they have been carrying, or for a parent to say "I think this is already happening."

NMD's presentations are built around that moment. The content is the same as what you'll find on this site. The difference is the space — and what becomes possible when people are in it together.

Every session

What you can count on

  • No scare tactics. Information delivered clearly and calmly, with space for questions.
  • Age-appropriate content. Sessions are tailored to the specific group — what works for a grade 7 class is not what works for a parent council.
  • Interactive format. Questions are expected and welcomed throughout, not held to the end.
  • Follow-up resources. Every session includes a resource package for participants to take away.

Our programs

Three programs, one shared purpose

  • An educator leading an interactive workshop with a group of engaged teenagers in a classroom

    School Programs

For students, in the spaces they already occupy

Delivered directly into classrooms, assemblies, and advisory periods, NMD's school programs meet young people where they are — not in a separate "safety talk" that signals something is wrong, but as part of the normal conversation about how to navigate the world online. Sessions are age-appropriate, interactive, and designed to build skills rather than fear.

    • Curriculum-aligned content for grades 6–12
    • Separate sessions for different age groups when needed
    • Interactive format — questions are expected and welcomed
    • Follow-up resource package for teachers
  • Parents seated at a community information evening, listening to a presentation

    Parent & Caregiver Sessions

Giving adults the language to have the conversation

Many parents want to talk to their children about online safety but don't know where to start — or worry that raising the topic will alarm rather than protect. NMD's parent sessions focus on practical, non-alarmist language: how to open the conversation, what to listen for, and how to respond in a way that keeps the door open. Sessions are typically 90 minutes and include a Q&A period.

    • Evening and weekend scheduling available
    • Suitable for school parent councils and community groups
    • Practical conversation guides included
    • Q&A with time for specific concerns
  • A diverse group of adults engaged in a community learning workshop

    Community & Organisation Programs

Reaching the adults who work with young people

Youth workers, coaches, faith community leaders, and volunteers are often the first adults a young person turns to — and they need the same knowledge as parents and teachers. NMD delivers tailored sessions for organisations that work with young people in any capacity, covering recognition, response, and how to create environments where young people feel safe to disclose.

    • Tailored to the specific role and context of your organisation
    • Covers recognition, response, and disclosure support
    • Suitable for staff training and volunteer orientation
    • Certificate of completion available on request

The booking process

What happens after you reach out

Booking a session is straightforward. We handle the logistics — you focus on your community.

1

We reach out within two business days

After you submit a booking inquiry, a member of the NMD team will contact you to discuss your group, confirm logistics, and answer any questions.

2

We tailor the session to your context

Every group is different. We'll ask about your audience, any specific concerns you want addressed, and the format that works best for your space and schedule.

3

We send materials in advance

Facilitators receive a pre-session guide and any handouts or resources before the day. Teachers and group leaders receive a follow-up package after.

4

We follow up

After the session, we check in to answer any questions that came up and share additional resources for your community.
